Autumns Breathe: A Short Story
Like a dream
filled with Amber light,
so continues the cycle
of Autumn's ignite.
Twisting twirling wearied leaves,
acorns falling from many trees
the streams trickle and cackle
and tendering berries are a sight.
while crows take flight
the stag stands tall
amidst his fiery forest tonight.
Mother owl observes all
the mouse that scurries
the turtle that rests from its journey
the dove that comforts the weary
the hedgehogs that burrow with family
the moth that lights their own path
the butterflies that mingle
and the fox that chases the rabbit
in hopes of sufficing his bad habits.
the humans harvest
as the meadowlarks call
they gather their family to feast by nightfall
their cabin's fireplace burns warm and bright.
like the strum of the harp
or the light gust of wind
Autumns breathe greets Earth's children
